Startup and Safe Riding
Ever ridden a bicycle before? Great, your almost there.
- Place your key in the steering wheel ignition
- Turn the key to ON
- Make sure your kickstand is up
- Rotate the throttle (the right handle bar).
- Enjoy your ride and be safe. Remember, you may be on an electric bicycle but your still a cyclist, so obey the three rules of the road: don’t ride on the sidewalk, don’t ride against traffic and don’t run red lights. We also don’t recommend off-roading.
To Stop:
- Make sure throttle is fully released
- Apply pressure to brake handle
To Park
- Dismount from the bicycle on the left side
- Hold front handlebars and back handle firmly
- Step on kickstand, pressing it downwards
- Lift up the back of the bike by the handle, while pressing down with the foot on the kick stand until it is fully engaged
Storage
The FlyKly electric bicycle is waterproof, plus it’s a bicycle. That means you can lock it up pretty much anywhere a regular bike is allowed.
- sidewalks
- fences
- bicycle racks
- parking garages
To extend the life and performance of your bicycle we recommend long term or regular storage in a safe place where it will be relatively safe from the elements.
Also consider:
- Using a cover
- Using a chain
- Employing our embedded GPS anti-theft tracking device
MAINTAINENCE
Care
To make sure all your rides are smooth and safe, it’s important to show your FlyKly Electric Bicycle some love. This means:
- monthly maintenance
- make sure your brakes are tight. Tighten them as necessary.
- grease the following areas:
- Disc brake rotors
- The casette, i.e. the area where the chain connects with the rear cog wheel.
- check tire pressure. Inflate as necessary at your nearest gas station.
Cleaning
The FlyKly Electric Bicycle loves to get wet and regular cleaning is recommended. Treat your bicycle like a bicycle and your battery like a battery. This means:
- Spray down and dry the body and motor casing
- Wipe down all the gauges and meters
- It’s ok if the outside of the battery gets a little bit wet, but for best results remove the battery from the bike during cleaning
Self service
Just like you, your FlyKly Electric Bicycle needs a checkup once in a while. It’s highly recommended idea to have your bicycle checked out once every six months or so.
- We recommend you take your FlyKly bicycle in for a tune-up at authorized FlyKly Servicing Facilities every six month
